Cherry Green Exfoliant is a natural exfoliating ingredient manufactured from the cherries shells, a reference of shell & kernels range. The species chosen to produce our exfoliant is Prunus cerasus, also known as sour cherry, tart cherry, or dwarf cherry.
Prunus cerasus, a tetraploid with 2n=32 chromosomes, is thought to have originated as a natural hybrid between Prunus avium and Prunus fruticosa in the Iranian Plateau or Eastern Europe where the two species come into contact. The tree is smaller than the sweet cherry (growing to a height of 4–10 m), has twiggy branches, and its crimson-to-near-black cherries are borne upon shorter stalks.
Symbol of summer, the cherry is a gourmet fruit with many benefits. Every part of this red fruit finds an application. If its flesh is appreciated for its antioxidant properties, the fruit tails are used in decoctions as a diuretic.
The kernels find use as an exfoliating ingredient.
