Green tea is a type of tea that is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process used to make oolong teas and black teas.

Green tea originated in China, but its production and manufacture have spread to other countries in East Asia and today is cultivated across the world in tropical and subtropical regions.

It is an evergreen shrub or small tree that is usually trimmed to below 2 m (6.6 ft) when cultivated for its leaves. It has a strong taproot. The flowers are yellow-white, 2.5–4 cm (0.98–1.57 in) in diameter, with seven or eight petals.

This hand picking is repeated every one to two weeks.
