APPLEguard® is a high-tech biomimetic active developed to strengthen the skin’s resilience against modern exposome stressors, with focused action on blue-light protection, circadian rhythm balance and overall skin performance.

Inspired by the adaptive molecular profile of the Shinsekai apple, it is obtained through a refined extraction process designed to retain the most relevant bioactive components, delivering a balanced phytocomplex that supports cellular vitality and recovery.

By helping the skin better cope with light-driven stressors and daily environmental fluctuations, APPLEguard® contributes to a more stable, balanced and visibly healthier complexion.

EFFICACY TESTS

Blue-Light Defense — Cell Viability (Melanocytes)

Setup:
Human epidermal melanocytes were exposed to repeated blue-light irradiation for 3 days, then treated with APPLEguard® at 1–5 mg/mL. Viability was quantified by MTT assay vs irradiated and non-irradiated controls.

Interpretation:
APPLEguard® preserved metabolic activity after photostress, supporting cellular resilience (+11.9% vs irradiated control).

Bar chart showing preservation of melanocyte viability after repeated blue-light exposure with APPLEguard® at 1–5 mg/mL.

Blue-Light Defense — Melanin Reduction

Setup:
Melanocytes were irradiated with blue light and treated with APPLEguard® (5 mg/mL). Melanin content was quantified after 72 hours vs irradiated controls.

Interpretation:
Significant reduction in blue-light–induced melanin accumulation (–65%), supporting tone stability under digital-age exposure.

Multi-Endpoint Clinical Evaluation

APPLEguard® was assessed through a multi-endpoint protocol combining mechanical performance, epidermal renewal, and consumer-perceived benefits. This integrated approach reflects the product’s role in reinforcing skin resilience under exposome-driven stress.

Elasticity — R2 Parameter (Cutometer®)

Setup:
28-day half-face study on outdoor workers (35–65 y). APPLEguard® (5%) and placebo were applied twice daily. Elasticity measured as R2 (Ua/Uf).

Interpretation:
Improved elastic recovery (+7.8%), indicating better mechanical responsiveness under daily stress.

Cutometer R2 elasticity graph showing a 7.8% improvement after 28 days of APPLEguard® compared to placebo.

Firmness — F4 Parameter (Cutometer®)

Setup:
Same 28-day protocol as elasticity. Firmness evaluated via the F4 deformation parameter (lower values = higher firmness).

Interpretation:
Reduced deformation under stress (–23.5%), demonstrating enhanced structural cohesion.

Cutometer F4 deformation graph showing a 23.5% reduction in skin deformation after 28 days of APPLEguard® compared to placebo.

Stratum Corneum Turnover Time (SCTT — DHA Method)

Epidermal renewal measured on the forearm using the DHA–ITA° method. Faster ITA° normalization indicates shorter turnover time.

Interpretation:
Accelerated renewal by almost 4 days vs placebo, restoring a youthful-like renewal dynamic.

Bar graph showing faster stratum corneum turnover time with APPLEguard® compared to placebo and untreated conditions.

Consumer Self-Assessment (5% Cream)

Setup:
28-day half-face study with structured questionnaire evaluating perceived improvements.

Interpretation:
Clear perceived benefits in radiance, elasticity/firmness, skin balance, tone evenness and overnight renewal, mirroring instrumental results.

Radar chart showing improvements in radiance, elasticity/firmness, balanced skin, evenness and overnight renewal after 28 days of APPLEguard®.

Together, these endpoints confirm APPLEguard®’s ability to reinforce skin performance across mechanical resilience, renewal efficiency, and visible appearance — a holistic, exposome-aligned profile unmatched by conventional actives.
