SESAMULS® WO is a water-in-oil emulsifier derived from renewable sources, combining polyglycerol with olive oil fatty acids and malic acid from upcycled plant sources.

It enables the development of rich and nourishing emulsions with an elegant, less greasy skin feel compared to traditional W/O systems.

Easy to use, also in cold processing, and highly versatile in formulation, it is compatible with a wide range of active ingredients and well tolerated by the skin.

EFFICACY TESTS

SESAMULS® WO IN SUNCARE APPLICATION

Three water-in-oil (WO) suncare systems with theoretical SPF 30 were formulated using mineral UV filters and the respective emulsifier at recommended concentrations. Spectrophotometric analysis of static SPF (Fig. 1) shows that OLEAMULS® WO enhances SPF, ensuring adequate protection.

A sunscreen is labeled “water resistant” (WR) if its SPF effectiveness remains above 50% of the initial SPF after two 20-minute water immersions. SESAMULS® WO outperforms the benchmark in maintaining water resistance, approaching the maximum level (Fig. 2).
